Horowhenua’s new council has officially taken office with a swearing in of elected members on Wednesday night.
The meeting included the swearing-in by the mayor and councillors, and Te Awahou Foxton Community Board members, and the appointment of the deputy mayor. Mayor Bernie Wanden appointed David Allan as deputy for a second term. Members of Te Awahou Foxton Community Board elected Ross Brannigan as their chair, and Irene Wakefield as their deputy.
The first council meeting will be 11am Wednesday, December 10.
