Horowhenua StarThe Horowhenua Art Society has already decked out its Bath Street, Levin, gallery ready for Art Trail Manawatū, running on the weekend of October 18 and 19.
During the trail weekend, members will be showcasing their varied talents, including watercolour painting, drawings, pen and ink drawing, oil painting, floral art, jewellery, cardmaking and mixed media. They will also have a table for children who can make cards to take home.

The society does art classes throughout the year, including for children and teenagers. Next year it will start classes for beginners. It also offers lectures by artists from outside the district.
At least 20 members joined in the past year, swelling the society’s ranks to 80-plus after holding regular open weekends.
